Audit and Compliance Services is an independent function that provides comprehensive internal audit and consulting coverage at the enterprise and operational levels. Internal Auditing reviews the reliability and integrity of information, compliance with policies and regulations, the safeguarding of assets, the economical and efficient use of resources, and established operational goals and objectives. – Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)

Responsibilities for Audit and Compliance Services include performing internal audits, coordinating all external audits, and providing consulting services to assist ITS management in achieving its objectives. The primary goal of Audit and Compliance Services is to promote effective internal controls related to all aspects of ITS’ services and operations. Because the services provided by ITS are subject to the same requirements as the customers who use the services, Audit and Compliance Services must continuously pay attention to changes in standards and regulations and be flexible with its resources and approach in order to respond appropriately to changing conditions.

 Services

 In order for Audit and Compliance Services to meet its responsibilities, assessments, audits, and reviews are performed depending on the circumstances and requests from management. Services are broken down into 3 distinct areas:

1.            Internal Audits 

a.            We assist ITS management in achieving its  objectives through annual audit planning based on risk. To implement the plan, we perform audits, assessments and reviews that cover such areas as IT, operations, and fraud.

 

2.            External Audits

a.            We coordinate all external audit activity including compliance assessments and technical compliance reviews for ITS with those agencies using ITS infrastructure services.

 

3.            Consulting Services

a.            We provide proactive consulting services where we can identify potential risks and offer recommendations to offset those risks.
